Managers: Please share this information with staff who do not have access to e-mail. Adverse Weather Attendance and Timekeeping As a healthcare provider, Grady operates 24/7, and all staff are expected to report to work at their regularly scheduled time, regardless of severe weather conditions. We know the weather can cause significant challenges for staff commutes; however, our promise to our patients is to provide them with the best possible care, and we need you here in order to do so. Event: Adverse weather – snow and ice Effective: Sunday, Jan. 9, 3 p.m. – Wednesday, Jan. 12, 3 p.m. Policy: According to the Adverse Weather Attendance Policy # 200.11:1) Employees are paid only for the actual number of hours they are at work.2) Employees who do not report to work during adverse weather will not be allowed to take benefit time (PTO) to cover for time not worked. This time will be documented as unscheduled/unapproved absence. 3) Employees who report to work and are sent home due to adverse weather conditions may use PTO. This policy applies to BOTH exempt and non-exempt employees. Employees may make up unworked time within the same pay period if there is work available which must be approved by their supervisor. The current pay period ends on Saturday, Jan. 15. For this week only, not showing up for work or showing up late for work from Sunday, Jan. 9 at 3 p.m. through Wednesday, Jan. 12 at 3 p.m., due to the weather, will NOT be treated as an occurrence under Grady’s disciplinary process. Management/Timekeeper Actions:1) All maintenance, review and approval of time for this pay period must be completed by Monday, Jan. 17 at noon. As a reminder, Monday, Jan. 17 is a holiday.2) Any unworked/scheduled hours that have not otherwise been made up within the pay period should be recorded in KRONOS as “unscheduled/unapproved absence.” Please make sure that all unworked hours are tracked accordingly.
